Sorry it’s been so long–I’ve been fighting with some health stuff, and haven’t been updating as often as I’d like.  In positive news, I just finished something I’m pretty happy with it and sent it to my favorite beta reader for her to kick the tires.

So rather than talking about writing today, I thought I’d share one of my goofy little hobbies.  Not only do I collect quotations, I collect misquotes: quotations which are almost never quoted right.  These are things that “everyone knows,” and “everyone” knows them wrong.

“Alas, poor Yorick, I knew him well” should beAlas, poor Yorick.  I knew him, Horatio.” Here are some others:

“All that glisters is not gold.”

“Water, water everywhere, and still the boards did shrink.  Water, water anywhere, nor any drop to drink.

“I never saw a moor/I never saw the sea/But I know how the  heather looks/And what a billow be./I never spoke with God/Nor visited in Heaven/But I am certain of the spot/As if the greaves were given.”

“Music soothes the savage breast.”

“I have yet to run into a deep down real and true complete asshole at this company–vaguely annoying incompetents are much more common, and I can deal with those, because I scare them.”
